At present, many countries, including Russia, have gradually beenmining with the non-traditional methods. Primorskiy Kray is known as ahighly-industrialized region in Russian Far East Economic Area, whosepower consumption takes27%of all in the Far East Economic Area whilefuel consumption30%of all. Coal, one of the main resources, is the mostimportant raw material to the chemical industry and coking or so, forwhich public utilities and household both have great demand. Byanalyzing the geological structure of Primorskiy Kray as well as assessingthe possibility other energy carriers involvement, and based on theprospect that there will be a great demand for the chemical energy rawmaterial for a long time in the21st century, it concludes that coal will bethe most reliable resource. In Primorskiy Kray, there exist plenty of coal deposits consisted offive coal swimming pools, of which Rakovskoe is in the developmentstage, so it’s urgent to study how to use hydraulic underground miningmethod into the exploration. Nowadays, compared with other earthscience engineering methods, BHM is the most suitable for industrialentry. This paper reviewed specifically all aspects of using the hydraulicunderground mining method to explore Rakovskoe coal deposits. This paper’s main research contents conclude such aspects as:(1)borehole hydraulic mining technique. deeply understand andstudy on this technique and its application to the coal exploration;(2)consideration of the mineral geological structure;(3)choice of Koski coal deposits systematic development;(4)basic principles of the method chosen to get gravel transported tothe surface;(5)a problem of environment protection existed in the development.Through this study the following conclusions:(1) Present a set of equipment for the borehole hydraulic mining andfinish some relevant calculation. It was calculated that hydraulicfracturing radius increase with jet diameter increasing under the samepressure so that it turned out the optimal diameter of the jet to be22mmon the conditions of the existing equipment.(2) Complete some relevant calculation on the porous mining, specifically on the hole depth and the drill hole spacing when coalhydraulically mined. And it turned out that underground space increasewith depth increasing. In addition, it was calculated safe drill holespacing under different depth conditions and provided some technicalsupport for the hydraulic mining in the mine lot.(3) Complete hydraulic conveyance system design calculations andcompleted a ground system design. To be specific, by calculating of hydrotransportation of slurry at various modes and diameters of pipes,diameter402mm and506mm, the calculations showed that for the givenconditions are most suitable pipe diameter506mm.
