Due to the gradual growth of awareness about living environment and safetyfrom consumers,reducing the weight of automobile body and emissions andimproving the safety factors of automobile have become consumers’ universalappeal. In design field,room for advancement is limited simply because that thestructure of car has progressed to be nearly perfect go through more than100years.In material field,traditional material can’t guarantee structural strength and lowerthe thickness of car body at the same time. However,the appearance of HSS solvethis problem perfectly because of its excellent strength and hardness. At roomtemperature,the yield strength and tensile strength of HSS can reach to1200Mpaand1600Mpa, respectively. The civil research about HSS and hot stampingtechnology is far less than the western countries. As a result,the study on hotstamping technology possess fundamental significance.In this paper, the research places emphasis on cooling system, blank’temperature field,stable process of temperature and local hardening. It will go deepinto the optimal design of cooling system,blank’s temperature field and factors ofstable process through theoretical analysis,numerical simulation and experimentalstudy. At last,with the combination of experiment and numerical simulation,drawthe following conclusions:(1)Via the comparison between tank type and tubular cooling system,the design planof the cooling system is confirmed as tank type. In addition,by means of thediscussion of groove width,pipe diameter,interval and inlet height,the finalparameters are determined as below,width:20mm,inlet height:45mm,pipediameter:8mm.(2)Through the analysis of blank’s temperature field,some conclusions are reachedas below:the increase of pipe diameter,decrease of interval,decrease of lengthbetween pipe and blank,decrease of initial temperature of blank and increase ofholding time all lead to the decrease of mean temperature of the blank.(3)With the analysis of factors about blank’s temperature field,conclusions are listedas below:the stable speed of blank’s temperature field will increase with the initialtemperature of stamp,pipe diameter and holding time. Additionally,it will decreasewith the initial temperature of blank and length between pipe and blank.(4)Through the hot stamping experiment,local hardening is validated to be right bychanging the initial temperature of mould.
