Facing with the situation of energy shortage, energy saving and environmental protection has become the focus of attention problems in today’s society. Looking for new kinds of clean renewable energy becomes countries’ major issue. Sewage-source heat pumps use low temperature heat source in urban sewage. The measure recycles waste material and obtains the promotion and application. This text bases on Dalian Xinghai Bay sewage-source heat pump project, which utilizes the sewage from the sewage treatment plant nearby as heat source for district heating and cooling. Sewage-source heat pump units’ operation situation and influencing factors are analyzed. And a performance evaluation is carried out. This text firstly introduces the calculation method of the refrigerant’s thermodynamic properties. The required equations are list. Consequently, the refrigerant’s thermal properties data is obtained. on this basis, the thermodynamic cycle of the heat pump system is analyzed, then the parameters required for the calculation can be obtained.Based on Xinghai Bay sewage-source heat pump project, heat pump heating and cooling system, the running mode in the winter and summer and the water and meteorological conditions in Dalian. Before entering the heat exchangers, the circulating water must be carried out in water treatment, including softening treatment and chemical treatment feeding. The main equipment for water-source heat pump units for performance analysis can build the mathematical model. According to the on-the-spot investigation data, The thermodynamic cycle is calculated for heat pump performance coefficient of the COP. Factors affecting the operation of heat pump units are water-carrying capacity, water temperature, water temperature and the stability of water supply. The heat pump performance coefficient of the COP and primary energy utilization coefficient E is based on the heat pump performance evaluation index. The heat pump performance coefficient of the COP includes heating coefficient of performance and the refrigerating coefficient of performance. This text compares the electric sewage-source heat pump with the traditional heating boilers for the primary energy utilization coefficient. It turns out that the heat pump has the great potential for energy saving.
