The machine tool is a typical mechanical manufacturing process equipment, which is also a major energy consumption equipment of the manufacturing plant. China is the global machinery manufacturing country, and is the biggest country of machine production and consumption, but our country’s machine tools have a low rate of numerical control and energy efficiency. Due to the global warming and low-carbon economy are becoming more and more attractive, the low-carbon manufacturing has become a new research hotspot. In the field of mechanical manufacturing, the core of low-carbon manufacturing is to save resources and energy. In order to reduce the energy consumption in the process of numerical control machine tool processing, it’s great significance to research the energy consumption model and the energy balance equation, and then implement the energy consumption of machining process.This article has consulted a large number of literatures, it is clear about the research status of low-carbon manufacturing and the energy model and energy consumption of CNC machine tools at home and abroad. The power balance equation and energy consumption model of CNC machine tools and the optimization of machining process simulation and energy consumption calculation are studied. The main contents include:According to the structure, function and main technical parameters of CK7815numerical control lathe, through the study of the energy flow and energy consumption analysis of machining process, the power balance equation and energy consumption model of this machine tools are established. So the theoretical basis is laid for researching and calculating the energy consumption of machining process.Stepped shaft was looked upon as a typical processing object, using the modeling, processing and post-processing module of UG software were used to generate the executable NC code about CK7815CNC lathe turning stepped shaft.VERICUT numerical control processing simulation software was used to transfer into the generated NC code of stepped shaft, and the machining process simulation of CK7815CNC lathe turning a typical processing object was realized after the optimized process parameters were obtained. It has provided data reference for the energy consumption of a typical processing object of the contrast research and optimization.Because of the written Delphi program to read NC code, and according to the parameter values and the changes of the tool path in the machining process of a typical processing object, using the established power balance equation and energy consumption model of CK7815CNC lathe were used, the typical processing object’s calculation of cutting energy consumption in the processing procedure has implemented.By the research results mentioned above, according to multiple sets of different cutting parameters and the process parameters determined by simulation optimization, the energy consumption of the typical processing object in machining process should be respectively obtained, and after the comparative study was carried out, the direction for optimizing the cutting energy consumption of the typical processing object has been pointed out, also an effective reference method for analysising energy consumption of machine tools was provided.
