The loops are installed between two stands to regulate the flow of the metal in the balance and ensure the tension constant which working on the wire in the process of rolling. They play an important role in the production of the high-speed wire rod mill. Especially for the rolling required more quick automatic system, but the traditional control method can not match the precision control requirements, so doing the analysis and research on this part is of far-reachinng significance.This article beased on the loop control system of one native high speed wire rod mill. Because of the traditional PID control method having the dynamic overshoot and long response time and also the disadvantage of long adjusting time and the poor control accuracy. This article mainly discuss about the control methods and how to improve the loop system. As follow:At first, we do the analysis of the loop control system, including studying this plant production process and researching the basic structure and principle of the loop automatic system then do mathematical modeling. This article considered using the intelligent control method on the loop system. After simulation, the chose of fuzzy self-adaptive PID controller will automatically change the PID parameters according to the error and can do on-line parameter adjustment. It makes the system much faster and more accuracy and also improved the anti-interference performance. Based on the demand of the production process to the loop system, this article designed both PID control and fuzzy control methods at the same time, compare their result to the fuzzy self-adaptive PID. The conclusion is the fuzzy self-adaptive PID control method has better performance than the other two. It is more feasible in the loop control system.
