Two flame retardants are synthesized by cyanuric chloride, trimethyl phosphite and triethylphosphite in this topic. Through discussing molar ration of reactants, reaction temperature andtime, optimal synthesis conditions are determined. IR, NMR and ESI-MS are measures tocharacterize the structure of the two flame retardants. Density, viscosity, acid value, the amountof solids and phosphorus content are also tested. Flame retardant finishing are accomplished bypadding and baking process. We get the optimum flame retardant finishing process afterdiscussing the amount of flame retardant and penetrating agent, pH and temperature.Vertical combustion performance test results show that the flame retardant cotton fabric hasa good flame-resistant property, with the damaged length less than150mm, the afterflow timeand afterglow time0s. TGA results show that the main pyrolysis temperature of cotton afterbeing finished by flame retardant declined about80℃, and the amount of residue increasednearly4times after being burned. It proved that the fabric was difficult to burn. SEM resultsshow that the flame retardant can uniformly adhere to the surface of the fabric and successfullydelay burning. All experimental results prove the two flame retardants an excellent durable flame-resistantproperty. In addition, no formaldehyde is participated during the whole process of synthesis andfinishing. |
