Ceramic inkjet printing technique has many advantages, such as high-quality products, low cost, low carbon environmental protection and print product no touch, which attractedgreat attention from the China ceramic industry. The preparation of ceramic ink is one of keyfactors for the application of this technology. Ceramic ink does not industrialize in China bynow, and are mainly imported from abroad, which has disadvantages such as high price, service provided not timely etc. In this paper, development of ceramic ink was conducted, which is helpful for the application of jet printing technology in china.Yellow ceramic ink was prepared by dispersion method. Laser particle size analyzer,SEM, colorimeter, viscometer and surface tension-meter were used to characterize theproperties of the developed ceramic ink. Effects of grinding process, dispersant, solid loadingon the properties of the developed ceramic ink were studied. The suitable conditions were asfollows: using selected ceramic pigment D and dispersant C,45%solid loading and thegrinding time1.5h. Under these conditions, the results indicated that the properties of thedeveloped ceramic ink are similar to those of foreign yellow ceramic inks. The developed ceramic ink was evaluated using a drop observatory, and effects oftemperature and pressure on ceramic ink were investigated. The results showed that the inkdid not block nozzles and the drop was round and no trailing at the temperature25℃andelectric voltage90V. The ink-jet printing product color of homemade yellow ceramic ink islighter than foreign yellow ceramic ink. This paper will be useful for preparing ceramic inks by dispersion method..
