| Biomass cement-based composite material, which processed with cement, biomass materials and some additives, is kind of new construction material. This material, combining the advantage of both cement and woody material, conserve and environmentalist, is the most potential board in developed country. With Portland cement as matrix and grapevine particle as reinforcement, this paper researched grapevine properties and the technological conditions of grapevine cement-bonded particleboard. This new particleboard will increase the levels of value-added processing and utilization of grapevine and improve production and reform of new construction material in China. This paper has systematically researched contents of grapevine properties with SEM, X-ray, FTIR and contact angle tester in the field of wood science&technology and relative science. The contents of research includes: the microstructure, fiber morphology, chemical composition, microfibrillar angles, crystallinity degree and wettability of grapevine. On these bases, the compatibility between cement and grapevine had been improved and technology of grapevine cement-bonded particleboard was made, providing supporting data and reference for industry applying of grapevine.The main results are summarized as follows:(1) Tylosis of grapevine was rich. There were a large number of starch and a small quantity of druses of calcium oxalate. The results of fiber morphology showed that grapevine had a good fiber quality which its average fiber length was1584.17μm and the fiber width was38.61μm, mainly ranged from1200μm to2000μm.(2) Grapevine consisted of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. The content of Klason lignin was between22%and25%the content of cellulose was from38%to40%the content of hemicellulose was37%38%the content of ash was2.3%the average content of water soluble extraction were5.23%by cold dip and7.99%by hot dip the content of1%NaOH extractive was28.63%. There was S (syringyl) in grapevine lignin.(3) X-ray diffraction method was used to measure the microfibril angles (MFA) and relative crystallinity. The results showed that the average value of the MFA was44.1°, which varied from38.4°to50.0°. The MFA of grapevine was obviously higher than wood. The average relative crystallinity of grapevine was37.4%, which was varied from32.6%to41.0%and was smaller compared to wood. The contact angle tester analysis showed that the surface free energy of grapevine was78.75mJ/m2, whichhad excellent wettability.(4) The study about the compatibility between cement and grapevine showed that Grapevine could not be used directly in cement composite boards because of its high inhibition. Additives such as CaCl2could improve its compatibility to cement. Compatibility of grapevine and cement was further improved after pretreatments of grapevine. The order of effectiveness were cold water<hot water<1%NaOH.(5) The optimal technique of grapevine cement-bonded particleboard were density1.2g/cm3, fiber/cement ratio0.2, water/cement ratio0.35and CaC123%(weight of cement). The properties of grapevine cement-bonded particleboard used the optimum process can meet the requirement of the China Building Material Standard (JC/T411-2007). |
