High performance vinylon fiber (High-strength flame vinylon fiber) has some advantages, like has good flame resistant performance that not less than the aramid fiber, breaking strength large.cheap that price for2/3of the aramid and so on, it is well-known that vinylon fiber’s raw materi is very limit, If using this fiber on the flame clothing and in the industrial textiles, the needs of the foreign flame retardant viscose will be great reduced. Also development and use vinylon fiber which is using the natural gas as raw material will bring great advantage to the dometic textile industry.So far, there has been no thorough study on high-strength flame resistant Vinylon blending fabric. This topic mainly studies the basic mechanical properties, flame resistance performance, heat resistance, arc protective performance and so on when it is applied as the outer layer fabric in the arc protective clothing.First tested the basic properties of the three different high-strength flame resistant vinylon blended yarns, This test mainly studies the yafn unevenness uniformity, yarn hairiness, yarn strength properties, etc. This research proved that high-strength flame resistant vinylon blended yarns were totally meet the weaving requirements.After tested the basic performance of the high-strength flame resistant vinylon blended fabric, it’s showed that three sample’s gram weight, warp/weft density and thickness only has a little difference. That was a good foundation for the latter fabric testing.Through tested and analysed the sample’s break strength, tear strength and wear-resisting number, we know that high-strength flame resistant vinylon blended fabric’s break strength and wear-resisting number were meet the requirements of the arc protective clothing. However the high-strength flame resistant vinylon20/1313aramid20/flame retardant viscose20/flame retardant polyester20/90S unshrinkable wool15sample had a substandard tear strength.The fabric flame retardant performance test showed that high-strength flame resistant vinylon blended fabric’s warp/weft damage length, after-flame time and after-glow time can satisfied the requirements of arc protective clothing, during the combustion process did not appear melting drop phenomenon, and after burning fabric had form the carbon layer to protec user.The fabric thermal conductivity performance test showed that the aramid50/high-strength flame resistant vinylon25/flame resistant viscose25sample had a lower thennal conductivity coefficient in normal temperature compared with the thermal conductivity coefficient after fabric been heated, But the two of other samples had a higher thermal conductivity coefficient in normal temperature compared with fabric been heated.The fabric heat resistance test showed that three samples had a highest break strength loss percentage in220℃, Aramid50/high-strength flame resistant vinylon25/flame resistant viscose25sample had a better dimensional stability, and mechanical property was also good. So choose235℃to processing that sample fabric, the test data showed that Aramid50/high-strength flame resistant vinylon25/flame retardant viscose25sample’s warp shrinkage over10%,beyond the standard of the arc protective clothing.In the fabric’s arc alternative test, Through the comparison with cotton, high-strength flame resistant vinylon blended fabric had a better arc resistant performance. And high-strength flame resistant vinylon25/1313aramid25/flame retardant viscose20/flame retardant polyester20/90S unshrinkable wool20sample’s voltage withstand breakdown performance was best, Aramid50/high-strength flame resistant vinylon25/flame retardant viscose25sample’s high voltage electric arc performance was best.To comprehensive three samples all the properties, that showed aramid50/high-strength flame resistant vinylon25/flame retardant viscose25sample had a better comprehensive performance.
