After having developed over half century and more, electroless copper plating technology has been gradually applied to the field of electromagnetic shielding fabric. A prerequisite for chemical plating is the substrate surface must have a catalytic activity, so as to trigger the chemical deposition reactions, but in the process of the traditional palladium catalyzed chemical copper plating, colloidal palladium easily peptization and lose activity, when ion palladium as a catalyst, the working fluid is easy to produce precipitation, affect the activity, and the price of palladium rapid gains, resulting in high cost, so non-palladium catalysis has become a direction of the copper plating research. In addition, the conventional process of copper plating used the intermolecular interactions to adsorbed metal, so the obtained copper plating layer luster dim, loosely arranged, fastness low and has poor wear resistance, but use ionomer or chemically manner to graft the group which can adsorbing the metal particles, adsorption between the metal and substrate can be enhanced, thereby improving the density of the coating, uniformity and fastness. However, to date, the search of non-palladium catalyzed copper plating metal adsorption by graft sulfhydryl source is not sufficient in the field of textile research.According to the above, this paper use nylon fiber as matrix, silver as catalytic substances, coupling agent KH580and mercapto acetic acid as sulfhydryl source, study the influence of different catalytic material, reductant and reducing process, such as concentration of reductant and deoxidation time, on the process of copper plating and the structure and properties of plating, analyzed the influence of the impact factors such as concentration of sulfhydryl source, pH value, time and temperature of processing, on the effect of copper-plated, test the characterization of copper-plated fabric, and optimized the process of copper plating.This paper studies the content as following:1. Study the influence of different catalytic substances on the properties of copper-plated fabric, choose the most suitable catalytic material-silver;2. Study the factors influence the binding fastness between the sulfhydryl and silver ions, comparative and analysis the influence of the species of reductants, concentration of reductants and deoxidation time on the catalytic activity and the performance of its copper-plated fabric;3. Select the suitable mercapto source-coupling agent KH580and thioglycolic acid, discuss the chemical reaction method to cause covalent or ionic binding (lipidated and amidation reaction), the mercapto groups can be better combined with fibers by a covalent bond or ionic bond;4. Study the effectiveness and performance of the copper-plated fabric be treated by various mercapto source, under different process conditions, analyzes the influencing factors, obtain the optimization experimental program by orthogonal experimental;5. Use the method of surface dip and set to immerse the mercapto source into the fiber surface by utilizing ultrasound, electroless copper plating, and study the influencing factors of different experimental conditions on the effectiveness and performance of the copper plated fabric, get the optimal experimental program by orthogonal analysis experiments.
