The Application And Redesign Of Rib Stitch On Women Knitting Sweaters Design

Core tasks of this research project are the application and redesign of rib stitch on women knitting sweaters design. Ribbing is a basic organization of woolen knitting pattern, whose loops across the front and back of the needle bar needle according to the certain configuration to form gibbous and depressed embossing shape structure. Rib in Chinese is translated from English’Rib Stitch’, literally can be understood as the texture of this kind of knitting method like ribs, who have gibbous and depressed embossing shape structure. Redesign of rib stitch base on this original concept of rib to change its styles.As the special structure is different from others, rib stitch is uncurling, strong and flexible. Such favorable personality of knitted fabric in the knit sweater design has no alternative position of the pattern of others. Actually, studying on the application of rib stitch in sweater design came to the disturbing reality that rib is extensively applied in knit wearing design; however, there has an extremely strong contrast between monotonic rib stitch styles and the diversity of knit wearing design, especially in the women fashion design. Have the monotonic rib styles meet the needs of designers or something tie the development of rich rib stitch styles, such as concept, technology and attention. However, this research shows that most of knit wearing designers look forward to new styles appear. Therefore, the value and purpose of this research are raised the theory and made the practice activities of rib stitch re-design. With the art inspiration and computer-controlled flat knitting machine, thesis made the purpose those new kinds of rib stitch to come up with aesthetic texture to apply to design, in order to try its best to bring rib’s advantage into full play and generated more value added.Integrated document retrieval method (including text, images, video, etc), market survey method, questionnaire survey method, knitting experience method, rate statistics, analysis of inductive method, this thesis came to the following results and conclusions:(1) The collection and consolidation of information prove that the organizational structure plays an important role in the knitted sweater history development and knitting sweater design.(2)The application of rib stitch research includes that the field visits of Da Lang sweater production base in Guangdong and Pu Yuan sweater market in Zhejiang, comparative analysis of375pieces of knit sweater on Knit Show under2011-2012fall/winter Europe ladies’knitting sweater and133pieces of ninth session "Ying Wei Cup" knitting fashion design contest. With the fist-hand information, the data prove that the rib occupies the most important position in knitting wear design and have the conclusion of rib stitch universal application and monotonic styles.(3)The Investigation result of76pieces questionnaire research, from the knitting knitwear designers and in the design of teaching workers knitting sweaters design, shows that at present Chinese knitted sweater Enterprise spending on independent development of pattern design is still at an early stage, designers are eager to the emergence of new pattern in practice and they have positive attitude of the value and space of redesign of rib stitch.(4) As the materials and methods of rib stitch redesign is diversity, this subject selects the form rows of roof tiles and embossed shape as the creative footage to redesign the rib stitch. Through56times of the weaving experiments on the weave Tablet, it is successful design28new rib forms in this research, which can draw the redesign of rib stitch theory actionable conclusion.(5)With highly innovative and ground-breaking, the design of rib reconstruction theory integrated into other art forms into knitwear design and promoted the innovation of practice and the theory of knitted sweaters.
