At present, coal is the major part of Chinese energy consumption and Chinese coalproduction accounted for about40%of world production. With the coal recovery increasingyear after year, the coal mine safety problem seems particularly outstanding. Serious coalmine accidents frequently occur and result in a large number of casualties. So it is imminentto research on safety of coal mine deeply and prevent from coal mine accidents efficiently.Emergency refuge facility as the most efficient coal mine safety facility plays a key rolein reducing casualties. The mobile refuge chamber is the most widely used kind of emergencyrefuge facility and plays a very important role not only in protecting personnel life security indanger, but also in withstanding the gas explosion and the destruction of collapse disasters.The main research object of this paper is the strength of the mobile refuge chamber underthe load of gas explosion. First of all, using the SolidWorks software establishes the three-dimensional entity model of the mobile refuge chamber based on the structural parameters ofthe KJYF96/8model mobile refuge chamber.Secondly, this paper conducts the numerical simulation of the gas explosion based on theANSYS/LS-DYNA finite element software in order to get gas explosive shock wavepropagation law in arch wall roadway, which is most widely used in coal mine in China.Again, this paper conducts the numerical simulation of the KJYF96/8model mobilerefuge chamber with the ANSYS/LS-DYNA software based on the finite element simulationmethod and gas explosion shock wave propagation law in roadway. Through the analysis ofthe structural stress and displacement calculation results, this paper evaluates the reliability ofthe KJYF96/8model mobile refuge chamber.Finally, this paper conducts the respective finite element simulation by changing thestructural parameters of the KJYF96/8model mobile refuge chamber. Through the analysis ofthe rules of the stress and displacement with the change of the longitudinal stiffener`s space,the toroidal stiffener`s number and the type of stiffener, some rationalization proposals are proposed for the improvement of the KJYF96/8model mobile refuge chamber’s structure.
