With the soaring of international oil prices, oil shale as a huge oil supplementenergy is attracts wide concern. In the process of solid heat carrier retorting oil shale,the mixing of oil shale and heat carrier particles directly affect the heat transferbetween the particles, thereby affecting the production of shale oil. Therefore, studythe mixing between particles is of great practical signiifcance.The particles mixing is composed of axial mixing and radial mixing in retorting,for understanding the particle mixing in retorting more deeply, the full study must becarried out for both mixing. In this paper, in order to study the radial mixing inretorting, thin drum as radial mixing experimental device, take advantage of thecombination of experimental and mathematical statistics method, study the affect ofthe particles radial mixing by different iflling ratio, angle, speed, particle and drumradial size.Research on the two-component particles at different speeds, found that thetwo-component particle motion show rolling mode when the ifll rate is16.7%,particle movement can be divided into four regions in detail, which the particlesmixing mainly whereabouts layer region and the vadose zone, particles mixing trendto "dual,shocks trend,in general.The expeirmental study of the three-conipt)nent particles in difefrent filling ratio,angle and speed of radial mixing, discovered that diffusive mixing stands out in theoverall mixing, the form of large particle distribution is similar with two-componentparticle, still the petal-shaped. Petal number is related to ifll rate, with the filling rateincreased petal number increase, petal height is related to angle, the angle increasesthe height becomes larger; particles mixing quality with the ifll rate and speed aresignificantly and showed a negative correlation.By comparing the two-component,the three-component and four-componentparticles radial mixing, found that multi-component particle radial mixing mechanism is basically the same, but the diffusion mixing plays different roles in differentparticle composition; distribution of large particles are petal-shaped, but due to theaffection of the number of large particles by particles composition, making the petalsnumber and clarity reduced with the reduction of the number of large particles; theaspect of particles mixing quality, mixing stability and mixing speed are related to theparticle composition complexity, particles mixing degree is related to the number oflarge particles.The partial correlation analysis of the degree of mixing on cylindrical diameterof125mm and21Omni drawn cylindrical diameter on the degree of mixing is notsigniifcant and mainly for the inhibition. But as the difference between the cylindricaldiameter used in the industry and experiment is large, this effect will be magnified.
