With the development of society and economy, antimicrobial treatment fortextiles was demanded due to the enhancement of customers’ health conscious.A number of new antibacterial agents were developed, such as silver particleswhich have advantages of persistence、broad-spectrum、security、efficiency anddifficult resistance and so on. But silver particles were difficult to be fixed ontextiles because it lacks of reactive groups. Furthermore, the color of silvereasily changes due to sensitivity to light. In this study, we choose β-cyclodextrin as cyclodextrin to prepare nano-silver by chemical reductionmethod, then we choose polycarboxylic acid as arosslinking agent to treatviscose non-woven fabric. The mainly results of this study are as follow:(1)β-cyclodextrin as protective agent and sodium borohydride as reducingagent were used to prepare nano-silver, the optimal process and parameters is asfollows: the concentration of beta-cyclodextrin was20mmol/L, theconcentration of AgNO3was1mmol/L, the concentration of NaBH4was2mmol/L, the speed of magnetic stirring was12r/min, the reactive time was12h,the reactive temperature was5℃. Infrared spectra indicated that the hydroxyl ofC2and C3have inclusion reaction with silver; the UV spectrum showed that thenano-silver particles were spherical, the characteristic absorption peak was400nm, the absorption spectrum shift red as the increasing of particle size. TheXRD patterns showed that: the nano-silver crystalline particles wasface-centered cubic structure and the degree of crystallinity of nano-silver waswell; TEM photogragh showed that: the nano-silver particles were spherical andwell dispersed, the size of particles was between1-2nm; Light fastness testsshowed that nano-silver packaged byβ-cyclodextrin had good optical stability.(2)Butane tetracarboxylic acid(BTCA)was used as crosslink agent totreat viscose non-woven fabric, the optimal process and parameters are that: one bath finishing method, the concentration of BTCA was80g/L, antimicrobialagent was0.3mmol/L, pre-drying100℃(2min), curing at130℃(3min). Afterfinishing, the breaking strength increased10%, the breaking elongationdecreased31%, whiteness decrease13%, air permeability increased11%. Theantimicrobial fabrics have good antibacterial durability, it can kill90%bacterialeven after50washing cycles, and the antimicrobial abilities didn’t changeafter3months.
