Fire safety has gained more and more attentions. Flame retardant viscose fiber is produced by adding flame retardant into spinning dope. Flame retardant viscose fiber has good properties as common viscose and excellent flame retardance. Flame retardant viscose fiber has a broad application prospect in terms of flame retardant textiles.With flame retardant viscose fiber, developed pure yarn and blended yarn. With the yarn, developed pure fabric and blended fabric. The physical and mechanical properties of the fiber, the yarn, and the fabric were studied systematically. The flame retardant performance and the thermal-wet comfortability of the fabric were tested and analyzed. The concrete design scheme for spinning technology, weaving technology and fabric structure was proposed.The microstructure and properties of the fiber were tested and analyzed. The results of microscope pattern showed that the fiber cross section is irregular zigzag, the fiber longitudinal has grooves. The actual moisture regain is8.98%. The fiber cohesion and fiber friction coefficient is big. The fiber spinnability is high. But the fiber strength is low, especially the wet strength decreased obviously.Blended with modal and polyester, four kinds of blended ratio18.5Tex flame retardant viscose blended yarn were spinned. The flame retardant viscose blended yarn can be produced on ordinary cotton spinning equipment. The spinning technology is simple and feasible. The yarn property, such as yarn strength, yarn eveness, and hairiness, meet the requirements of subsequent weaving.With different fabric weave and fabric density, varieties of flame retardant viscose/modal and flame retardant viscose/polyester blended fabric were produced. The fabric flame retardant and routine properties were tested. By optimization of fiber type, blended ratio, fabric weave, and fabric density, the fabric cost is reduced, the flame retardant performance and wearabilty is satisfied.Level method test and limit oxygen index test showed that the flame retardant performance is linearly related with the content of flame retardant viscose fabric. The fabric weave and the fabric density have significant influence on the flame retardant performance. With the increase of fabric density the flame retardant performance is reinforcement. As for the fabric weave, fancy basket weave fabric has best flame retardant performance, twill weave fabric has better flame retardant performamce, plain weave fabric has lower flame retardant performance.The permeability, moisture permeability, thermal conductivity and contact comfort were tested. The results showed that the flame retardant viscose fabric has a good thermal wet comfort performance. By changing the fabric weave and fabric density, the fabric can achieve better performance in certain index.Using grey clustering analysis method to evaluate the comprehensive thermal wet comfort of fabrics, the optimal solution is concluded. The fabric with240/10cm weft density, fancy basket weave,80/20flame retardant viscose/polyester blended ratio has the best comprehensive performance.
