For home and abroad needs new environmentally friendly antifouling coatings.Based on the research and analysis about low surface energy antifouling coatings, bionic technology, marine bio-fouling mechanism and the relationship between structure and characteristic of the material surface, this paper puts forward for the large area coating shipbuilding industry technologies and a specific micro-nano-structured surface roughness nanoparticles/polymer compositing coating concept. This paper is to establish the scientific and experimental basis for the future development of new low surface energy antifouling coatings. This paper selected hydroxylated MWCNTs as nanoparticles, used in-situ polymerization of fluorine-containing acrylate-coated carbon powder. Then we dispersed the modified and unmodified carbon nanotube powder in the different film-forming resin, we researched the characteristic of the coatings that we got. The results showed that:(1) We successfully prepared in-situ polymerization of fluorine-containing acrylate-coated carbon powder and the encapsulation rate of the fluorine-containing acrylate coating was about50%;(2) As the carbon content increased, the surface roughness and hydrophobicity of the composite coating increased while the glossness decreased. After coating fluorine-containing acrylate, the carbon nanotubes would have better wettability and compatibility with film-forming resin. The composite coatings prepared would have less surface roughness, less surface friction coefficient, lower surface energy, higher hydrophobicity and glossness;(3) When the content of the modified carbon nanotubes is in a certain range, the composite coatings obtained show a certain degree of unevenness periodically arranged undulating topography micro and nano structures;(4) Compared to carbon nanotube/polymer composite coating, modified carbon nanotube/polymer composite coating has better resistance to marine bacterial adhesion and bacterial adhesion had less secure and easier to be removed.
