Coiler is the important equipment in the metal strip finishing unit,it is used to coilthe strip for easily storing and transporting. It has been proved by production practice,coiler working condition directly affects productivity of the tandem mill, and the reel isthe core component of the coiler.In terms of technical, when we design the reel,it requires that the reel is open at thebeginning; In the coiling process, the diameter of reel can be reduced for releasing theradial pressure; And in the end, the reel can retract for discharge.To achieve the above requirements, it requires the diameter of hydraulic cylinder isreasonable, but the diameter of hydraulic cylinder is chose according to the calculationformula of radial pressure. The calculation of radial pressure is not only the first step ofparts strength and expansion cylinder thrust calculation, but also is directly related tothe strip quality. Therefore, accurately calculate the radial pressure for coiling strip isvery important. However it is related to coiling tension、coil diameter、radial stiffness、strip coil surface state、 interlayer sliding friction、strip width and many other factors.As the complexity of the structure and the nonlinear of boundary conditions, theproblems are great difficulty in the theoretical analysis and experimental research. Thepurpose of research is more deeply understanding coiling theory and the structure ofreel. Finished the following problems:(1) According to the existing design theory for coiling steel,using the theory ofelastic mechanics、theoretical mechanics and mathematics theory knowledge, deduced anew relationship calculation formula of coil diameter and radial pressure when coilingaluminum strip.(2)Design the structure of the reel, and establish the three-dimensional model bythe software UG. (3) Get that simulation model according to the above theory and workingprinciple,then simulate the inverse process of expanding diameter by simulationsoftware ADAMS to determine thrust of the cylinder.(4) According to the calculation formula of radial pressure and the simulationresults, analysis contact strength between sector plate and wedge block,then optimizethe number of sliding columns by CAE software ANSYS.
