In this article, groundwater of the Jiaozishan landfill site environs are the researching objects and its pollution characteristics and mechanism have been researched and several aspects have been discussed.1. The conditions of geological structure and aquifer characters are find out. The geological structure of Jiaozishan area is very complicated with intertextured structures controlling the area, which cases fragile geological environment and poor anti-pollution capacity of the study area, there are three kinds of groundwater including pore water, fracture water and karst water in the study area, the groundwater flow is north-west and south-west and the groundwater supply surface water thoughout the year.2. The characteristics of water chemical from different water-bearing layers are checked out. The pore water mainly belongs to types of HCO3-Ca, SO4+HCO3-Ca and HCO3+SO4-Ca+Na, the fracture water mainly belongs to types of SO4-Ca+Mg and SO4+Cl-Ca+Mg+Na and the karst water belongs to water chemical of HCO3-Ca and SO4+HCO3-Ca. The distribution charact and evolution rule of horizental and vertical space are find out, which implies that the water chemical chages from Chloride and sulphate to bicarbonate type in horizontal space and the water chemical is more simple in karst water than pore water and fracture water in vertical, which indicates less influence by landfill.3. Water quality of the different groundwaters is evaluated by the method of "inferior index determines the quality" and the main factor and contribution degree are ascertained basically. Comprehensive evaluation of the waters show that the proportion of III type occupies1/3and that of IV and V type occupy2/3in pore water. The fissure water and karst water are mainly composed of V class water.4. The main influence factors of the groundwater are find out by the evalution of detected and exceed standard pollants. The result shows that organic pollants including1,2-dichloroethane, toluene, fluoranthene, pyrene, fluorene and Philippine in pore water and1,2-dichloroethane, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, pyrene and benzo (a) anthracene in fracture water as well as cis-1,2-2vinyl chloride in karst water are also detected in landfill leachate, which determines the organic pollution area of3Km2. The mainly exceed standard inorganic pollants are Total hardness, total dissolved solid, Cl, SO42, NO3, NO2and NH4.5. The pollution evaluation of groundwater near the landfill shows that the pollution area by inorganic pollants includes15Km2acreage with5Km2of heavy pollution.6. In this article, the geochemical change rules of REE are analysized for the first time to figure out the pollution by landfill and the results show that REE can be pollution index in landfill contamination. The concentration of∑REE LREE/HREE、 Sm/Tb、δ Ce and δ Eu are relative higher in polluted groundwaler, which implies the impact on groundwaler by landfill. Eu and∑REE have significant correlation wi th pollution indexes like CODMD,, NH4, TDS, et al, which means REE can act as a tracer for pollution.7. The quantitative calculation of chlorion shows that the concentration of pol hints decrease in the same time with distance from landfill increase and the concentration also reduce in the same place with time build up. The groundwater modeling system (GMS) is applied to modeling the migration and transformation of chloridion and PAHs. The results show that the simulation results fit the test data well, which implies that the pollution scope will continue to expand along the groundwater flow direction.8. The research result shows that the Jiaozishan landfill site is not suit for large landfill site and suggest ions arc ending the garbage landfill as soon as possible and taking monitor and govern methods to avoid diffusion of the polluted groundwater. It is suggested that new monitor wells should be deployed and in-situ bioreinediation technologies should be used.
