Net primary productivity (NPP) is an important part of terrestrial carbon cycle, and it also is a main factor to judge ecosystem is carbon sink or not and to adjustecological process. Forest is the main kind of terrestrial ecosystem, it has highbiological productivity and large biomass accumulation. NPP and forest ecosystemplays an important role in both global change and carbon balance. Ecologicalcompensation is a forceful mean to relieve the economic contradictions betweenReserve and surroundings, and also it is helpful to the management of Reserve. Forforest ecosystem is the main ecological type of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve, itis meaningful to research NPP and ecological compensation about ChangbaiMountain Nature Reserve. The study based on CCD data which is equipped on HJ-1satellite, then usingimproved CASA model estimate the NPP of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in2011. Combine the Reserve’s evaluation index system of ecosystem service value andNPP, I got the Reserve’s ecosystem service value; using Peel’s Growth Curve andEngel Coefficient, I got ecological compensation coefficient; then estimated the totalamount of ecological compensation of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in2011.Via the study, concluded that:1) By using the data of HJ-1satellite and the improved CASA model, estimatedthe results of NPP of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in2011. The results showthat the biggest NPP value in the year is among June to September and the value is824.82gC/m2,and the mean value of the year is352.09gC/m2.2) Based on the previous studies and the features of Reserve, combining theReserve’s evaluation index system of ecosystem service value and NPP, I got theresult that the ecosystem service value of the Reserve in2011is about9.546billionyuan; 3) Through Peel’s Growth Curve and Engel Coefficient, defined the ecologicalcompensation coefficient is0.4353, so the amount of ecological compensation ofChangbai Mountain Nature Reserve in2011is about4.155billion yuan.
