Chitosan is suitable as wound dressing materials, because it has no bio-toxic, noirritating to the skin, easy adhesion to the skin surface, strong coagulation hemostasiseffect, but also has good absorbing and preserving water rate and water vaporpermeation rate. And tourmaline is conducive to wound healing and growth ofbiological cells, because it has the emission of negative ions and far infrared radiation, and generating the weak bioelectricity. In order to further promote the wound healingability of the system of chitosan wound dressing materials, the research ideas aboutthe Tourmaline/Chitosan composite materials for wound repair was proposed, whichbased on good trauma healing properties of chitosan. The system of Tourmaline/Chitosan composite materials was designed forwound repair. The Tourmaline/Chitosan composite fiber was prepared by solutionspinning method, and the Tourmaline/Chitosan composite membrane was preparedby coating method. The preparation process of composite fiber and membrane wasstudied. The effect of the proportion of Tourmaline/Chitosan on the morphology, phase, bonded by chemical bonds, absorbing and preserving water rate, hydrophilicity, water vapor permeation rate and biocompatibility in vitro was studied especially. The results showed that the suitable conditions of solution spinning method arethat there is1%glycerol in the spinning solution, the coagulation system is binarywhich is composed of5%NaOH solution and ethanol, and the solidified as-spun fiberis washed with distilled water at80℃. The Tourmaline/Chitosan composite fiberdiameter is about250μm. The surface morphology of the chitosan materials does notaffected by the tourmaline. And the tourmaline particles are completely wrapped bychitosan in the Tourmaline/Chitosan composite fiber and membrane. After mixing oftourmaline, the crystallinity of chitosan was reduced in the composite materials. In theexperiment of the porous membrane, the crystallization and basic properties ofchitosan of composite membrane do not affected by the eporogen. Compared withnon-porous membrane, the absorbing water rate of the porous composite membrane was increased and at the same time the preserving water rate decreased. And itshydrophilicity is better than the non-porous membrane. The water vapor permeationrate of the porous membrane is about2000g/(m2×d). The results of biocompatibilityin vitro experiments of the Tourmaline/Chitosan composite materials show that thismaterial system is conducive for adhesion, growth and proliferation of the fibroblasts.Through this experiment study, a simple and reliable preparation method of theTourmaline/Chitosan composite materials for wound repair was established. And thenew chitosan composite fiber and membrane with good biocompatibility which couldpromote cell growth were obtained. The study results lay a good foundation for thedevelopment of new generation of wound dressing materials.
