Offshore oil platform has long been impacted by the wind, wave, ocean current andworking load, especially, the wave load is a kind of various load, under the whose impaction,structure material will produce stress changes with time, and the fatigue destruction will beproduced when the material’s resist ability reduced by the accumulation of the times whenresisting wave propagation. As to the offshore platform’s structure, by the influence ofstructure and welding, it is easy to produce great stress concentration and local plasticdeformation, which will lead to the local structural fatigue destruction under alternating loadin the marine environment.Alternating current field measurement (abbreviation ACFM) technique is anelectromagnetic nondestructive testing technology in recent years, which is one of the mainachievements in the field of electromagnetic detection of continuous research anddevelopment of non-destructive testing technology. It combined exchange potential drop(ACPD) detection technology with eddy current testing (ET) detection technology,and maket two kinds of characteristics in one. Like other electromagnetic testing, it is based on thecharacteristic of high permeability of ferromagnetic materials, that is, throughnon-conductive coating investigation and find the material surface crack, and detect the cracksize. Analysis model can perform field defect effect. Just use the numerical reading, we candetermine the size of defects in the surrounding. At present, alternating current fieldmeasurement technique is widely used for the inspection of surface and near surface defect ofmetal material and structure of oil and gas equipment, power and chemical transmissionpipeline engineering, aerospace and other industries of the parts, especially for local damagedetection of offshore platform has more significant advantages, the future developmentprospects.This paper is based on ocean model platform for the object, analysis of offshore platformform, local damage characteristics, the AC magnetic field measurement (ACFM) is studiedfor the technology and equipment of software, developed for the local damage detectiontechnology of offshore platform. Research contents including,1. Analysis the characteristics and application of nondestructive testing methods;2.Use ACFM testing to different structures of weld, analysis the test results;3.Compare the test results of ACFM technology with other testing methods;4.ACFM technology in the test of crack the key parts of offshore platform model;5.Application of ACFM technology in the local structure of offshore platform test.
