The viscosity of metal melts reflects the transport property of atoms which is the sensitive structure property. The relevant properties of liquid metal alloys play an important role in determining the performance and the quality of final metal alloys. As the sensitive physical property of metal melts, the viscosity of metal melts can build the connection between atomic structure and metal alloy properties. Therefore, the research of the viscosity of metal melts is of great significance. The metal material forming process mostly experiences a change from liquid state to solid state. The behaviors and the properties of metallic melts could affect the performance of the final materials. The viscosity of metal melts provides an approach to understand the action of metal melts. The Al-Fe alloys own favorable mechanical properties and chemical properties such as the corrosion resistance property. These properties make the application prospect of Al-Fe alloys very brilliant. In this paper, the dynamic viscosities of Al-Fe alloys with different compositions were systematically studied using high-temperature viscometer with and without a horizontal magnetic field, and the viscous behavior characteristics of metal melts were discussed. The research mainly focused on the influence of composition and temperature and magnetic field on the viscosity of metal melts.According to the experiment results, the viscosity curves of aluminum melts and Al-Fe melts without the magnetic field all fitted Arrhenius formula. Under the same degree of superheated temperature, the viscosities of Al-Fe melts were bigger than Al melts and increasing with the contents of Fe element in the Al-Fe alloys. There were needle-like phases in solidification of AlFe alloys, according the X-ray diffraction results, the main X-Ray diffraction peaks of AlFe alloys were Al, and Fe. Under the same degree of superheated temperature, the viscosities of Al-Fe melt and Al melt increased along with the increase of magnetic field intensity. The viscous energy of Al-Fe melt also increased with the intensity of magnetic field. Under the magnetic field, there was an abnormal phenomenon in viscosity composition relationship of Al-Fe melts.
