In the era of rapid development about industrial technology, high efficiency, highquality and low cost has become the theme of the social development. In the process ofthe actual production, the choice of reasonable processing parameters can improve thequality of the surface about the workpiece, improve the machining accuracy and reducethe unnecessary loss that has the important significance. The rapid development of thetechnology about the turn-milling has improved the processing efficiency greatly.Tangential turn-milling is a relatively new processing technology that its related law hasnot fully reveals, this makes how to choose reasonable processing parameters in order toimprove the quality of the processing surface become more difficult and affects thetechnology of the tangential turn-milling to further promote the use.This paper uses the theory and experimental methods, through the analysis on themotion of tangential turn-milling, analyzes the processing surface formation mechanismof tangential turn-milling in theory using transformation principle of graph and matrixand the envelope principle. Vector model of tangential turn-milling movement and thetrajectory equation of the cutting point on the cutting edge are established.By means of research on the formation mechanism of theoretic surface roughnessabout tangential turn-milling, similar changing function of the residual height about thetangential surface and the axial surface are established, the calculation model of surfaceroughness about the tangential surface and the axial surface are established, thecalculation formula of theoretic surface roughness about the tangential surface and theaxial surface are obtained.Using MATLAB language, develop the simulation system of surface topographyabout tangential turn-milling, analyze the effect of the cutting parameters on the surfaceroughness, such as speed ratio, axial feeding speed, milling cutter radius etc, and obtainthe conclusion.According to design the orthogonal test, perform machining the aluminum alloy 2A11, obtain the related test data. Superior level and optimum combination are obtainedaccording to the range analysis, analyze the effect of the cutting parameters on thesurface roughness, such as the rotational speed of the milling cutter, the rotational speedof the workpiece, each rotary feed of the workpiece, cutting depth, and the conclusioncoincide with the theoretical analysis.
