In this paper, we convey the research on oil removal of emulsified wastewater by small stainless steel packings. It examines the factors that affect the oil removal efficiency, including the type of packings, structure of the packed tower, flow rate and regenerated packing. In the meantime, we find out the way to regenerate the packing and test out the performance of regenerated packing.The petroleum was leaked out to the seawater and some was converted into emulsion. It would seriously pollute natural environment. It is hard to deal with such an issue when the area of the pollution waters was huge. This paper proposes the packed power filled with Triangle spring packing and Dixon ring packing absorbs dispersed oil droplets in the waters. The results indicated that stainless steel packing has an affinity for petroleum. The oil-removing efficiency was high and packing was regenerated after eluting with petroleum ether.The initial experiment uses the packed power filled with stainless steel Triangle spring packing (2x2mm,304stainless steel) to filter emulsified oil wastewater. The results indicated after filtering for30minutes, the initial average oil content lowered from23.25mg/L to15.07mg/L, the average removal efficiency could reach35.21%. The discharged oil content is close to three-level standards in basic controlled items of national discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plant. The reason for the low disposal efficiency is wallflow effect of the wastewater. So we improve experiment device.The improved packed power was added to3anti-wallflow rings. It has the effect on collecting and then re-distributing the liquid. The further experiment uses the packed power filled with Triangle spring packing and Dixon ring packing(2x2mm,304stainless steel). The filling amount of Triangle spring packing is85g. The filling amount of Dixon ring packing is20g. The filtering time is for30minutes. The results indicated that the oil concentration of artificial seawater decreased from19.85mg/L to3.10mg/L when the flow rate was47mL/min and the highest oil-removing efficiency could reach84.38%. The oil-removing efficiency was from66%to84%when the flow rate was between35mL/min and80mL/min. The average rate was around70%in the experiments.Packing was regenerated after eluting with petroleum ether and the oil-removing efficiency of the cleansed packing was stable.
