Wonderware monitoring system in charge of the operation status data acquisition and management for a number of equipment in coal mine drainage system, and through a more intuitive way to display the equipment status of running for operators in monitoring center, so operators can solve the problem very quickly when the equipment failure. This thesis designs an OPC-based data acquisition and monitoring system for coal mine drainage system, and according to OPC data access specification set up an OPC server. This system overcomes the dependent of the underlying data acquisition hardware which lies in traditional form of data acquisition and monitornig system in coal mine, and reduced the difficulty of system development and maintaince.OPC technology provides a standard communication mechanism for data transmission either the field devices or a large number of data sources. OPC sever package field devices and their drivers, collect data from the field devices and then exchange these data with OPC client, which plays a very important role in information sharing of Wonderware monitoring system.In this thesis, Wonderware software is a industrial automation and information software which completes the design of the mine drainage monitoring system.The operator can be more-intuitive to understand the current conditions of the water pump via Intouch. Wonderware monitoring system provides a independent platform called Industrial Application Server. The platform makes use of object-oriented technology, using a new method which derive object instance from object template to design monitoring system.This thesis proceeds from the practical application of coal mine, on the basis of research and analysis of OPC technology, it puts forward a kind of technology solution which applys OPC communication technology to achieve datas exchange between data source and instances on ArchestrA IDE in the coal mine drainage monitoring system. The thesis creates an OPC server on FactorySuite Gateway software platform, and uses WWClient test tools for OPC server’s testing to ensure the OPC server can collect data accurately. The OPC client is created in ArchestrA IDE. By using the scripting language to realize the communication between OPC server and client, using Object Viewer software to complete communication testing of coal mine drainage monitoring system, so that the system can realize reliable data transmission and reflect the real-time working conditions of the equipment.
