The rapid development of ceramic industry not only boosted the economic growth, at the same time, also brought many problems demanding prompt solution. In the traditional process of ceramic firing, the high temperature, dust and noise are prevalent at the production field, and the communication between workers, still, depend on intercoms during the commissioning procedure, which is low efficiency and not accuracy. That makes the following issues need to be solved urgently: In the first place, the health of the regulators, they have to spend much time on staying at the production site, in that case, it will lead to a lot of health issues. The next, that, the aged wires, need to be changed regularly because of the high temperature on the field. In the end, the poor efficiency and precision, it is exactly on account of the inefficient communication while operating the equipment.Current situation of how to monitor and manage a kiln will be analyzed in this article, and a design scheme of kiln monitoring and managing, integrating ZigBee and monitoring platform of both servers and clients, based on the feature of the kiln equipment site will also be put forward in this paper.By analyzing the design and technical points of ZigBee, a RF module has been proposed, which is based up on ZigBee node composed of CC2530 and CC2591. The further research on ZigBee network topology, ZigBee network technology and ZigBee2007/PRO protocol stack contributes a lot to the establishment of ZigBee star distribution system comprising ZigBee child nodes, including production equipment of kiln and hand-hold mobile terminals, and main nodeā€”upper computers. In the meantime, the concept of communication function module has been presented, which has become a bridge from node devices of the whole system to the ZigBee wireless RF module. The design of circuits in communication function module is specific to the master node and the child nodes respectively.It, studying the network communication technique based on TCP/IP protocol in depth, leads to the development, using C# as the programming language, of server-side monitoring platform which is able to exchange data with production equipment of kiln or hand-hold mobile terminals by means of ZigBee wireless network or with mobile phone client by means of setting up a TCP connection. The establishment of the database of full-scale production information generated by the servers provides valuable data for the improvement and optimization of the further system. In addition, a monitoring platform application for Android mobile phone has been designed. With the help of it, people have access to the producing information data of kiln devices by telnet the servers and can control, real-time and dynamically, the equipment according to the parameters and operating state, which is extremely convenient to manage the equipment.Some tests have been applied to the monitoring and management system which has been presented in this paper. It turned out that the system can solve the problems mentioned above effectively. Besides, the monitoring platform of servers and mobile phone client, based on TCP/IP protocol, possess the feature of perfect function and friendly user interface, and it has an ability to provide efficient and convenient management for administrators.
