The digital paperless thermal transfer printing process which printed the toner on the aluminum by laser printer and then transferred it to the fabrics by dyed-sublimation was explored in this thesis. The machine had been modified to meet the printing process, the component materials in toner were explored rougly to improve the process and the compositon, some orthogonal design test were designed to get the best ratio of the toner, and some experiments were conducted with other colors. Some printing methods had been summarized in the first chapter, and a new technology was conceived aiming at disadvantages of the methods mentioned before, whose name is the Digital Paperless Thermal Transfer Printing Process, which achieves the process according to laser printing principle and dye sublimation.Considering the defects of light-fastness on the red disperse dyes, the relationship between light stabilizer’s structure and the light fastness of Disperse Red TR-16 (referred to as Red 16) on cotton was explored through different light stabilizer treatments in the second chapter, and common characteristics of good light stabilizers were found possibly. Two programs were designed and expored to make sure their feasibilities in ChapterⅢ: insulating on the aluminum and replacing the transfer roller to resolve the problem after the replacement of the aluminum. Roller replacement transfering was proved feasible through the experiments.Orthogonal experiments were designed to get the best formula of toner, the print results were compared, purposes of various components and particle-particle interactions in toner were analysed in chapterⅣ.In ChapterⅤ, optimization experiments were designed on the part of the difference between the original toner and ours, and through some comparative analysis, suitable conditions and toner composition which were good for the printing process were sellscted.Images were printed and compared with other colors in chapterⅥ, the result was that the effects are different with different culture of various dyes, and the relationgship between them were analysed. In brief, outcome was achieved and follow-up ideas were proposed from the toner particle size, formulation, materials used on photosensitive drum and disperse dyes and so on.
