High speed machining (HSM) is a new comprehensive technique, which integrating Material Science with Engineering Mechanics, Information Science, Cybernetics and Manufacturing Technology. High speed machining, together with precision machining, high energy beam processing and flexible automatic processing, make up the four types of Advanced Manufacturing Technology nowadays. The conjunction between High speed machine tool and cutting tool effects performance & quality of HSM directly. Tool holder and tooling system, which are the components of conjunction, are cared by national and international scholar. In numerous tooling system of HSM application, HSK tooling system has its character and background of engineering application. The application of shrink chuck is being more and more widely because of its high speed, accuracy and rigidity.Basic research on the static rigidity and dynamic performance of HSK shrink tooling system was carried out by theory analysis and numerical simulation method in the paper. Combined with actual production, some problem existing in the production of HSK shrink toolholder was analyzed. The major creative work and research conclusion of this dissertation were as follows:1. The dynamic milling force model was established and verified. It provides theoretical proof to build numerical model correctly.2. By experimental research on different methods of clamping, the cutting force was contrasted in time and frequency domain. The result proves that the shrink chuck has significant advantage in terms of stability.3. Basic research on the influence of the different parameters on the rigidity of tooling system was carried out. Mainly studied on the interference, rotation speed, clamping length and overhanging length, which influence the bending and torsional rigidity. It provided theoretical basis for correctly choosing the relevant parameters in actual use.4. Some problems existing in the actual production and maseurment were analized. And provided theoretical instruction to actual production by analysis of production and maseurmentThis paper mainly delt with HSK shrink chuck and tooling system by theoretical analysis and experimental research, enriched design theories of tooling system in high speed machining, narrowd the study gap on tooling system between China and developed countries, and provided powerful technical supports on manufacturing and using of tooling system in high speed machining.
