High speed machining (HSM) is a new comprehensive technique,which integrating Material Science with Information Science,Cybernetics and Manufacturing Technology. As one of critical techniques,Tool system between High speed machine and cutting tool effects quality and efficiency of HSM directly.And its structure characteristics,static and dynamic performances,dynamic balancing propert draws much attention of national and international scholars. HSK tool system,which is developed in Germany,has been one of the most promising tool systems in HSM because of its outstanding structure performance. It has important theoretical and practical significance to carry out basic study of HSK tool system.This paper studied deeply analyzed the structure characteristic of the HSK tool holder based on the overview and analyses of the new tooling system at home and broad,pointed out the structural foundation of its superior performance,and precision design study of critical dimension of HSK tool system was developed.The results show that proper enlargement of interference fit range between spindle and shank can not influence major performance of HSK interface.The standard 7/24 tool holder/spindle interface,which is the most popular interface system,and HSK system(which is the most prominent new interface system developed during the last decade)have been selected to study.Using the finite element method and polynomial fitting,the deformation and contact pressure distribution of the selected interface at high rotations peed has been precisely simulated,And the influences on the performance in terms of axial and radial stiffness,and the positioning accuracy of the tooling system have been analyzed.The results indicate that HSK tool interface is more suitable than 7/24 tapered interface for high speed machining.It established the mechanic stiffness model of HSK tooling system,Through theoretical analysis and experimental data,obtained major influencing factor of the positioning accuracy and interface stiffness of HSK,it's pointed out to enhance the axis forces can improve contact quality between tool holder and spindle.Last,It synthetically analyzes various unbalancing factors in designing, manufacturing,assembling and using of HSK tooling system,It discusses various methods of choosing dynamic balancing precision scale of high speed machining,proposing the principle of determining dynamic balancing precision scale,It synthetically compares various performances and characteristics on tooling system balancing type.
