For a long time, the infrastructure of distribution network in China is poorer, and development levels is lower, compared with developed countries, the construction of distribution networks is lagging behind. With the continuous rapid development of local socio-economic and people’s living standards, the dependence and demand for power is growing every day, and the quality and reliability of power is also in highly demand. Reliable operation of the distribution network directly affect people’s daily lives. After distribution network breakdown occurs, timely and effective treatment for the breakdown can reduce users’outage time, reduce the power area, and improve supply reliability.This article based on the development of distribution automation, does a detailed study for service restoration of distribution network. It describes the contents of the study on the service restoration of distribution network as well as the basic requirements and mathematical models. I learning about the algorithms commonly used, such as heuristic search methods , genetic algorithms. And I did a detailed description for genetic algorithms based on service restoration of distribution network. This paper carried out the following main tasks:First, against the feature of the operation of the distribution network and the purpose of service restoration, combined fuzzy theory with switching operations number, the maximum voltage drop, the non-fault feeder transfer load and feeder capacity margin as the recovery goal, this paper developed a evaluation system of service restoration.Second, considered the characteristics of the distribution network and the service restoration, and the shortcomings of which the traditional genetic algorithm generate a large number of unfeasible solutions, this paper made a significant improvement to make up for the lack of traditional genetic algorithm, reduce the unfeasible solutions at a large extent and improve its computational efficiency.Third, with the simulation results of practical example, it demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the improved genetic algorithm, and the practical and feasible of the program from the algorithm. Finally, for the need of the restoration of the power supply of the other part in the distribution network, this paper designed a plug-in used in service restoration.
