With the advancement of technology and the living standards of People constantlyimprove, People have become increasingly concerned about their own environment. Theradioactive contamination has unique achromatic and tasteless characteristic, so it harms toour health under silently, and this harm can many a little makes a great deal, so achievesspecified dosage can bring on the lethality harm. In order to effectively prevent the damageof radioactive sources on the human body and reduce pollution on the surroundingenvironment, government regulatory agencies and all levels of the source unit strengthenthe supervision of radioactive sources. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to carry outeffective monitoring and management of radioactive sources. Therefore, it is vitalimportant to construct the video of radioactive source and the dose monitor terminalsystem. This topic is based on the application design.The paper discusses the development of video monitoring system at home and broadand the future direction of development, which experience of the first generation of analogmonitoring system, the second generation of PC-based video monitoring system, the thirdgeneration of the digital video monitor system, but also propose digitalization and networkis the development direction of the future of video monitoring, further extend to theresearch background and content---video and dose monitoring for radioactive sources aslevel meter of a refining oil factory, This paper using the Freescale’s i.mx27as thedevelopment platform, combined with modern video surveillance technology and Linuxoperating systems, design of a radioactive source video and dose monitoring terminalsystem, and successfully achieved on the level meter with a radioactive source video anddose monitoring. The article detailed analysis of the system design requirements andimplementation features, including indicators of some parameters, such as the encodingformat, the transmission frame rate, and so on. For these are given in detail design. Firstintroduced the system’s overall design, including design requirements, terminal hardwareblock diagram of the overall design, the terminal software block diagram of the overalldesign, the construction of the embedded Linux development platform. Then, the specificmethods and principles of the various functional modules, including dose detection module,video data capture and coding module, video motion detection module and video transmission module. Finally, the system established is tested by means.The test resultsshow that the system achieved the expected results for the radioactive source video anddose monitoring.
