The rapid development of parametric technology is making more andmore remarkable influence to the architecture design nowadays. With the aidof the parametric design tools and huge computation ability of the computer,many complex buildings become to realize today, which architects shouldshrink back at the traditional architecture design domain. Immediately, thecontent and extension of architecture design have surpassed the traditionalarchitecture greatly, combining more and more complex scientific theory andthe advanced technology with the other science domains. As a result, theclassical Western traditional geometry control methods in architecture designtend to be unfitted with demands of present complex architecture design andconstruction, and it is necessity to research the new methods of geometrylogic in parametric architecture design.This paper, which is based on domestic and foreign praxis and theoreticalstudy, attempts to sum up the newest geometry logic control methods based onparametric technology in architecture design and find some generalprinciples and rules implied in these methods combining the complex scienceand computer graphics theories. There are two main parts of contents in thispaper: on one hand, how the parametric technology in architecture designaffects the classical Western traditional geometry control methods; on theother hand, the new methods of geometry logic in parametric architecturedesign brought by the newest parametric technology. Meanwhile, the paperanalyzes some problems of the geometry logic control methods based onparametric technology in a dialectic view, which still needed to be solve suchas the idea promotion, the technical advancement, the standard unification andso on. Also, the future of the geometry control methods of architecture designwill be prospected in the light of parametric development. In this paper, theauthor stresses into the domestic actual project and the avant-gardearchitecture works of foreign universities and studios. Geometry logic construction and control has been existed as a thinkingmethod for a long time in the history of architecture design. However,parametric technology has brought new methods and characteristics forgeometry logic construction and control in architecture design and endows itwith unprecedented huge might. Unified with BIM (Building InformationModel) and RP (rapid prototype) techniques, the parametric geometry controlmethods have been able to play important roles during the whole course of thearchitecture design and construction.
