Approved by Chairman Hu Jin-tao, Central Military Party promulgatednew-revised Standards of barrack building area of PLA, which appears as standardsbelow, and began to perform from January1st,2010. The new standards standardizedarea of new-built barrack building of our army and it’s a control standard in barrackbuilding design of our army in the future. Its promulgation also influenced functionrequirements of barrack building design. As a structural unit of barrack unit system,energy consumption of barrack building in primary companies changed asmodification of design standards. How to design properly is the key point ofenergy-saving in barrack buildings. So it’s necessary to study energy-saving inprimary companies under new standards.Firstly, compared the new standard with the former one, described situation ofenergy-saving barracks in and abroad and policies, assessment method ofenergy-saving barracks world-wide by investigation and data analysis. Emphasizedthat energy-saving barracks not only cut down cost of the army, but also are of greatimportance in military.Secondly, analyzed relationship of relating factors and building energy-savingand the reasons why building energy consumption increase under new standards.Described the difference between barracks and civil building, figured out that most ofthe principles are the same except for that related to soldiers job behaviors. Resultsshowed that building energy consumption would increase significantly, especially asappearance of function rooms such as fitness rooms and computer rooms. Heatingconsumption would increase for40%.Thirdly, analyzed energy-saving strategies under new standards by simulation,compared the energy consumption difference of each other by scale, plane layout andfa ade layout of buildings. Simulation results showed that if calculate by energyconsumption per capital, three-floor barracks consume less energy than that ofsix-floor in winter. Key points of energy consumption of common building forms infive climate zones are not the same. Energy consumption in winter could be cut downsignificantly by increasing ratio of windows and walls when the K value of wallsmeets the new standard, but capacity of air conditioner would increase accordingly.Effect of sun visor would not increase proportionally with increase of exsertionlength. Effect of sun visor is significant when initially set, but would not increase apparently as increase of its length. According to feature of buildings, studieddifference of energy consumption of east-westward and north-southward buildings.Found out that the difference is within6%. So if set sun shade properly,east-westward building would not increase building energy consumptionsignificantly.Lastly, analyzed energy consumption of buildings combined with whole lifecircle and humanistic design. Figured out that common RC barracks’ carbon emissionvolume would increase by54%, so suggested that other structure should be adoptedin order to save energy. Discussed relationship between energy saving andhumanization by compare east-westward barracks with low-overhead building whichwould both increase energy consumption slightly.Finally, pointed out precautions under new standards in the future by simulatinginfluence of different room layout on energy consumption by series of simulation.Proposed advice on how to use it efficiently as reference in the future.
