The flapping-wing micro-air vehicle driving mechanism has a impact on the flapping mode andthe aerodynamics directly. It is a important part in the flapping-wing micro-air vehicle. At the presenttime, some headway has been made in the research. Most attentions were paid to the methods ofaerodynamics and the experimentation. But little other way was promoted. Therefore, the study on theflapping-wing micro-air vehicle driving mechanism has important theoretical significance andengineering application value.According to the kinematic chain transform theory, using six links seven kinematic pairs for theoriginal model, some kinds of kinematic chain can be induced. This paper selects one method as theflapping-wing micro-air vehicle driving mechanism. It can help to provide the important reference forthe design of the flapping-wing micro-air vehicle driving mechanism in days to come.Make the optimization design of the flapping-wing driving mechanism. According to thefundamental theory of the mechanism design and the theoretical mechanics, the kinematics’mathematical model of the flapping-wing micro-air vehicle driving mechanism is set up. Then, thepaper optimizes the parameters of this institution on the problem of asymmetrical flapping. In thiscase, the driving mechanism meet the requirements is achieved. The result of optimization showsright-and-left asymmetry of mechanism motion was greatly reduced to20.14%of initial mechanism.The right-and-left asymmetry of wing motion of flapping-wing was greatly improved.Due to the existence of the inertia and the aerodynamic moment, the motion of the institution hasspeed fluctuation. This phenomenon affects the mechanical efficiency and the aerodynamicperformance in the motion of the flapping-wing driving mechanism. Therefore, based on the secondtype of Lagrange equation, a dynamic model of the flapping-wing micro-air vehicle drivingmechanism could be established and the actual motion was studied. In order to obtain more accurateresults, dynamic software was used to make a simulation. After the simulation, the law of theinstitution’s speed fluctuation can be drawn under the different conditions of reduction ratio, loadparameters and input moment.
