Study On Traffic Space Of Contemporary Compound Exhibition Building

Exhibition industry as the prosperous industry in urban economic developmenthas the properties of high profit, high production and high interlock benefit. Especiallyin some developed countries abroad, exhibition industry has become the new growthpoint in economic development. Since90s last century in China, the exhibitionindustry has displayed optimal developing potential. According to the preliminarystatistics, in recent period, the expansion rate of the exhibition scale and quantity hasreached20%.Besides the direct income from the exhibition and profound benefit fromthe related industries, exhibition industry also could have crucial effect to speed up theconstruction of urban infrastructure, prompt the urban environment, improve theresidential environment, and elevate the city reputation. With this background, as thedirect building typology to serve the economic and trade activities, exhibition buildingis and becoming the essential means to prompt the urban development with its uniqueeconomic function. But the surge of the construction also results in a series ofproblems. With the larger scales, the traffic organization became the key issue not onlyinfluence the result, also would also affect tightly the urban peripheral traffic situation.This dissertation departs from the current situation of the contemporarycompound exhibition building and the traffic issues caused during exposition period,with the system theory and site investigation to compare and deep study the relationbetween the combining mode of the exhibition building and the traffic system atpresent, and conclude the general rule and methodology of the traffic space design ofcontemporary compound exhibition building, which include three aspects: in macro–scope, the urban traffic strategy; in medium-scope, the site traffic organization and inmicro-scope, the building traffic space design. Finally the conclusion is applied to thepractical projects the author participated, the China Expo Exhibition Center Complex,and obtains the key of the traffic space design of contemporary compound exhibitionbuilding.
