The green self-leveling mortar discussed in this article is a type of special mortarwhich uses tail-ore sand as fine aggregate and cement as main jelling material, a largeamount of mineral mixture is utilized instead of cement mixed with defined amount ofadditive, so that slurry could self level. Compared with natural cement base material,this mortar overcomes the disadvantage of its low constructing speed, bad flatness,cracking, spalling, flying ash and so on. Also, it fully utilizes wasted materials such astail ore sand, fly ash, and mineral powder. It reduces not only the production cost butindustrial waste, which meets the requirement of sustainable development and fits thedevelopment tendency of floor or ground leveling material.Aggregate and jelling material are two basic and also the most important parts ofconstituting. First the nature of tail ore is studied to discuss the feasibility of makingself-leveling mortar, by using cement of P·O42.5as jelling material and natural sandA, natural sand B and tail ore sand as aggregate, and doing equal test as five differentflue sand percentage as0.71,0.83,1.00,1.18,1.43. Following that is the study ofjelling material system, using coal ash, mineral powder, calcium carbonate powdermixed as the percentage of30%,40%and50%each, singly or every two types,instead of cement to make self-leveling mortar. And then do equal test as fivedifferent flue sand percentage as0.56,0.63,0.71,0.83,1.00respectively for everyjelling material system. Then test the performance of mortar, analyzing the effect ofdifferent type and mixing amount of mineral mixture to the performance andmechanical property of self-leveling mortar, according to Standard JC/T985-2005Ground Used Cement Base Self-leveling Mortar.The research result shows that less water would be used during the production ofself-leveling mortar made from tail ore sand, and the flowing performance andintensity at an earlier stage are all better than that of natural sand at the same flue orepercentage because of less particle size and better shape outputting from ball grindingmill. So we can conclude that tail ore sand is a quite good aggregate for producing self-leveling mortar. Single mineral mixture could bring down the cement amount to50%of the basic standard mortar (pure cement), and the self-leveling mortar is themost ideal, and its intensity is a little higher than the standard one, and its abrasiveresistance, intensity of stretching and bonding, rate of size change can all meet thestandard JC/T985-2005Ground Used Cement Base Self-leveling Mortar. Multiplemineral mixture could bring down the cement amount to40%of the basic standardmortar, and the most effective one is the mixture of coal ash and mineral powder,which could go into effect of complementary advantages, that is, not only reducingamount of water used, improving the flowing performance of mortar, but alsoreaching the mortar intensity of standard mortar. Its rupture strength is between F7and F10, and compressive intensity is C40.
