With the development of our society, transportation industry not only play a key role in our community, but also has made great achievement. Influenced by the increasement of cars and vehicle mileage, the comprehensive maintenance period of aging road is coming. In the aspect of road construction and maintenance, emulsified asphalt has been widely used in the micro-surfacing, slurry seal, chip seal and cold in-place recycling for asphalt pavement. The strength formation of emulsified asphalt mixture is consist of internal friction and cohesion, which is similar to HMA. The pavement performance of emulsified asphalt in the actual engineering depends on the properties of residues after curing. The emulsified residues mortar composed of the emulsified residues and mineral filler has the effect of binder indeed, so it is very critical to determine a suitable method which can better simulate the performance of emulsified asphalt during pavement service life. The reason for the damage in the early stage of asphalt pavement including design, construction and poor properties of the material, so the usage of fillers is too important to ignore it. As the initial dispersion system of the mixture, the structure, composition and properties of the asphalt mortar relates directly to the pavement performance of the asphalt mixture.First of all, six kinds of mineral filler’s conventional physicochemical properties and pavement performance of the asphalt mortar have been tested in this paper, which aimed at filtering key indicators of mineral filler to identify it’s quality. It is found that all of the indicators can meet the requirement of the specifications. The importance of material whose mesh size is less than 0.02mm has been discussing, so the partical size composition of mineral filler is analyzed emphatically by the winner 2008 laser particle size analyzer. Combined with the project experiences, determining appropriate filler-asphalt ratio to prepare asphalt mortar, then this paper will carry on the association analysis from six mineral filler’s physico chemical properties with high and low temperature properties of asphalt mortar by grey connection analysis. The test found that the following indicators of mineral filler has bigger degree of relation with pavement performance of asphalt mortar:hydrophilic confficient, density, fineness modulus, P20, D10. So the paper suggested that the above indicators of mineral filler should be identified as key element to evaluate mineral filler.Secondly, for five types of mineral filler and two types of asphalt in five kinds of filler-asphalt ratio(0.6,0.8,1.0,1.2 andl.4) to prepare asphalt mortar. The high and low temperature properties and fatigue properties of asphalt mortar is studied through DSR, BBR and PAV. Combined with the laboratory’s condition and according to the idea that the emulsified asphalt should change original asphalt’s propertis as little as possible, determining the obtaining method of emulsified residues should be manual mixing. Tests revealed that a certain variety and quantity of mineral filler are both have a great effect on the performance of asphalt mortar, The performance of two types of asphalt mortar with the same mineral filler has obvious differences. Thus, the variety and quantity of mineral filler should be selected properly based on different construction methods.Finally, the performance of emusified asphalt cold recycled mixture is verified preliminarily through splitting test. The compaction characters of cold recycled mixture was investigated by gyratory compaction test, the liquid content of 6.5% which contains emulsified asphalt and water is advised as the optimum liquid content of emusified asphalt cold recycled mixture, While the optimum emulsified asphalt content of 3.4% is proposed according to the relationship of TSR and the emulsified asphalt content. Then two types of mineral filler(1#,3#) were selected as filler to form cold recycled mixture, the splitting strength of them has some differences under the same conditions.
