| At present, the construction market in China is increasingly competitive. In orderto win projects, contractors often take low bid strategy, so the level of profit is gettinglower and lower, which makes the contractors in passive position. And relative thepassive contractors are trying to improve their project management level to gain moreprofits to make up for the reduced profits resulting from the low bid. Among them,reasonable claim become the most widely used and effective measures to improveeconomic efficiency of the contractor in the international market. Because of its lowercost and obvious effect, claim management is and favored by contractors, and it hasbecome an important strategy for contractor to protect their legitimate rights andinterests, to make up for project losses and improve their profit in the whole processof the project. The claim management in our country started late, although in recentyears, domestic claims management research has made significant progress, therelevant theory and practical application is still in the imperfect stage. How to conductrisk analysis of projects, and establish risk-based claims management system, hasbecome a problem to be solved for all the construction companies, especially forcontractors. And it is the purpose of this essay.Based on the view of contractor, the essay firstly introduces the theory of riskanalysis and claims management domestic and abroad. Then it discusses the meaningof claim risk, risk analysis methods, procedures, and the status of the contractorclaims management in our country. Based on in this, it uses fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation model to quantitative risk, to sequence risk events of contractor, so that thecontractor can claim for each of the risk factors based on their sizes to better respondto the risk. In the end, this article puts forward five claim management strategiesaccording to the above analysis. Hope that this essay can provide a new idea for thecontractor’s claim management. |
