Research For Taoism Architecture Space In Front Of The Temple And Temple Site In Shaanxi Province

The space in front of the temple, originally means Taoist building entrance, is aprelude space of building space sequence. It is a Taoist building entrance on the mainroad, by the development of sacrifice of people’s pilgrimage to commercial trade, andeventually evolved into the commercial space for local residents as well as the peopleof the temple during the provision of services. The content of the subject derives fromthe “Chinese Ancient Architecture Series" of Shaanxi ancient building, TwelfthFive-Year key Plan books charged by my tutor. The main purpose of the study is toexplore the present situation and the question of Taoist architecture in front of thetemple and temple sites, to arouse the people to the intangible and protect culturalheritage value. Discuss the temple sites’ form and spatial field source from templespace’s evolution and spatial structure, search design ideas and methods to improvedesign method of the public space system in the modern city.This article introduces mainly function of temple sites from the temple spacedevelopment and evolution to comparative study for various religious temple spaces indifferent areas by the relative quantitative structure theory. Then summarize: thematerial carrier of temple occurs is a temple and temple fairs in religious activities,customs and etiquette activities from generation to generation, and integration withlocal geographical and cultural, form one of the intangible cultural heritage “culturalspace" which we advocate in the current world. And temple is always happening"nuclear" and various function of attracting "source" role, its own religious and secular entertaining radiation which effect the space around the field, and formed an integratedspace before the temple and temple fair place which as the temple its core, andincluding business, entertainment, leisure and tourism, and other functions. It is thepoint of religious culture and secular culture, and the round space which is formed byradiation from the temple fairs and temple city, and its future is decided by the templeview. Its design quality and the cultural space field which can effect greatly theimprovement of living standard and improvement of the environment for the localresidents, and it has an important role for the prosperity of city and development of theurban economy.The paper firstly points out the necessity and inevitability of research for the spacebefore the temple and the temple fair places; secondly, it summarized and analyzed theTaoism and the Taoist architecture characteristic in Shaanxi, the evolution of the spacebefore the temple and temple fair places; take the Baiyun mountain of Jia county as theexample, and further research and study for the space before the temple and temple fairspace, find out the necessity and regularity; at last, on the basis of the research, sum upthe value of the space before the temple, existed problem, and analyze the protect andtransmit measurement for the temple fair place.
