Combine cycle power plant have a great development in recent years in ourcountry, because of its high efficiency, low-pollution to environment, lessconstruction area, better peaking capability, low cost, consuming less water, rapidstartup and stop characteristic, high automation etc. With the development ofcombine cycle power plant, the shortcoming in operation technology and plantmanagement becomes more and more obvious.In this paper, some research work in modeling has been down to GE9FA singleshaft heavy-duty gas turbine, based on the achievement of our laboratory before. Thevolume model, gas physical parameters calculation model, turbine charactercalculation model and turbine calculation construction are improved. Fuel physicalparameters calculation model and start-up model are established. According to thedesign condition parameters of GE9FA gas turbine, thermal characteristic parametersof different parts are calculated. Based on these characteristic parameters, simulationmodel for GE9FA single shaft heavy-duty gas turbine is established. The rationalityand precision are proved by the comparison of design point simulation result versusdesign point date. Besides, by the variable conditions simulation using GE9FA model,the main parameters variation tendencies are analyzed.Start-up of heavy duty gas turbine is studied and start-up model is established inthis paper. Flow rate and adiabatic efficient characteristic of compressor in low speedis calculated using simplified method. Based on above work, full start-up simulationmodel is built.The full start-up process, composed of two periods: from crankingspeed to rated speed period and the load increase period, is simulated using the fullstart-up model. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the model, the simulation resultsare compared with the operating dates. The comparison shows that the start-up modelis able to simulate the full start-up process effectively.Finally, load frequency characteristic of gas turbine is studied using the modelabove. In order to get the relationship between grid frequency and grid load, grid frequency-load model is established. To get the dynamic process of load frequencyof the gas turbine, simulation work is down controlled by two kinds of controlmethods which are also introduced in this paper. The simulation result is helpful tothe improvement of the control system.
