It is important to design a suitable air distribution system for the aircraft cockpit is a closedcabin, the quality and the efficiency of the air is the important fact of the comfortable of thepassengers inside. With the development of the technology of computer and CFD, it is an commonassist method designing the the air distribution system.According to the structure of the cockpit and designing rule, the geometry model ofthe aircraft is modified and the layout of the air distribution is designed first, the designinclude: the main air inlet, the front air inlet, the window air inlet, the foot air inlet andthe air outlet. The Realizable k-ε turbulent model and Reynolds averaged equation is introducedand selected as the solver of the flow in the cockpit according to the features of the flow. Structuredmesh for the cockpit is drawn by ICEM software to discretize the field of the flow., the temperaturefield, velocity field and the fraction of CO2is simulated by Fluent, a commercial CFD software to testthe performance of the air distribution system and two calculating examples among all examples areintroduced in this paper. The system in example1is an early one and the performance is not verygood, the facts, include the amount of air supply is too small, the direction of the air flow is not welldesigned, lead to the distribution uniform of the temperature and the velocity can not correspond thenecessary, and the temperature is too high in some regoin. The system is optimized in example2based on example1and other examples, and the temperature and the velocity field by the new systemcorrespond the design requirement. The fraction of CO2is calculated by the system designed byexmaple2and the result show that the fraction of CO2accords with the requirement.
