Flight simulator is a ground simulation system which is used to simulator aircraft flight. Thesimulator can provide pilots true driving environment, it is much more economic and safe. Flightinstrument is the display window of the aircraft performances and the navigation parameters. It givesthe pilot all kinds of visual information. Therefore, flight instrument simulation is the important partof the flight simulator.Firstly, this paper introduces flight simulator cockpit instrument communication technology andembedded Ethernet technology. Secondly, in the light of the character of cockpit instrument controlsystem in the flight simulator, this paper designs a kind of mothod in flight simulator instrumentcommunication based on Ethernet, the core of method is the design of Ethernet data receiving andprocessing module.In order to realize this module, this paper analyses and studies the NIC drive, thetransplantation of the TCP/IP protocol stack, changing the date from module to the standard of theRS232,using FPGA to simulate the data of ARINC429and RS485. The module also designs thecorresponding applications layer protocol according to the system characteristics. During theexperiment, FlightGear sends FDM data to the module by Ethernet, and then the FDM data handledby the module drives the simulation instrument by RS232.At last the experiments show that Ethernet data receiving and processing module not only canFDM data from FlightGear correctly, but also can the new data produced by the module drivesimulation instrument of real-time computer graphics. It lays a good foundation for us to use this kindof system in the real flight simulator cockpit.
