Research On Airline Schedule Optimization Based On Passenger Choice Behavior

Flight schedule is the service product of the airline, also it’s the infrastructure of the airline fororganizing and the base for making other production plans, and it is directly related to the interests ofthe airlines whether its quality meet the market demand. The key factors of the flight schedule includeflight frequency, time and fleet assignment, and they are the studying objection of this thesis.First, this thesis introduces the impact of the passenger choice behavior to the flight schedule,and in accordance with the different travel purpose the passengers are divided into businesspassengers and leisure passengers, and establish the optimal model constraints of the flight frequencyand time based on the two types of travelers choosing flights on the flight departure time requirements,and takes the minimum sum of the passenger delay cost and the airline open routes cost as theobjective function, which establish the optimization model of the flight frequency and time based onpassenger choice behavior. Then in obtains the foundation of the flight frequency and time, taking intothe huge difference between the commercial cabin ticket price and the economy cabin ticket price,based on personal preferences and personal economical condition, takes the minimum sum of theflight operations cost, the passengers spilled cost and aircraft acquisition cost as the objective function,and establishes the fleet assignment optimization model based on the space-time network structure.Through investigating and getting the airline’s business passengers aggregate demand functionand leisure passengers aggregate demand function for six routes, then uses the solving program GUIsystem based MATLAB for case analysis, and get the airline’s flight time and the type in thecorresponding routes’ in the establishing flight schedule model based passenger choice behavior, andthrough contrast the circumstance that the solution result when did not consider the passenger choicebehavior, this proved that it’s very meaningful considering the passenger choice behavior whenformulating the flight schedule.The thesis will provide a reference and learning for the airline optimize the flight schedule,reasonable arrangements for transport capacity resources, reduce cost and increase revenue.
