Establish The Evaluation System On The Base Of Historic Building Protection

Historic building is the living testimony of city cultural tradition and is an important and indispensable part of human civilization, whose sustainable existence not only has meaning to current city but also has more universal significance to the city’s future. This paper tries to construct an evaluation system with value as its core and exerts it in the whole procedure of historic building protection work, that can help us to understand the historic building from a new point of view.The object of study in this paper is the evaluation system of historic building. Based on much of investigation, with the synthetic theoretical research methods, there are several initiative aspects. Firstly, there is a comprehensive and detailed investigation to historic building in Signal Hill historic area at the first time, the investigation of historical data and the research are combined, and stablishes the detailed files of historic building, then evaluates them at the first time;Secondly, taking the protection program as clue, it establishes the evaluation system on the base of the whole protection work.Clears the contact of the evaluation process and different stages;Thirdly, it emphasizes not only systematism, but also carefullization, that meets the need of sustainable development. With doing-practical-work attitude, developmental viewpoint and dialectical thinking, it puts forward the pointed evaluation index and methods of Signal Hill historic area, which adapts other historical and cultural cities.There are six chapters in this paper, it expounds the research background of historic building evaluation systems home and abroad, and defines the related concepts of historic building. Historic building and heritage have been further distinguished and more extensive connotation of historic building is proposed. This paper describes research achievement in legal construction, protection management and evaluation system of historic building protection home and abroad. Based on the conclusion analysis, the framework of the basic evaluation system that meets Chinese present characteristic is built up. Taking the historic buildings of Signal Hill historic area as evaluating objects, the framework and idea of the evaluation system is applied to the protection of Signal Hill historic area. Detailed building information archives are formed and the value composition as well as the assessing emphasis are analyzed. Finally the index system and its operation pattern for local historic building evaluation are designed. And according to the evaluation results, the scientific guidance for the effective protection and rational exploitation of the Signal Hill historic building is provided. At the same time, the evaluation system is further tested rationally through the application example.However, scientific and effective evaluation system should be kept pace with times and modified or improved in the practice in order to ensure the evaluation results always in consistence with present.
