Basic friction-sliding isolation system, which sets isolation layer between base andsuperstructure, is composed by superstructure, isolation layer and substructure. It hasextensive application prospect because of the simple construction, convenience, reliableperformance and effectiveness.Influence and damage of seismic to the human society are firstly abstructedsynthetically. Then the operating principle of structural vibration control technologys incommon use are introduced, especially the isolation mechanism and development ofkinds of seismic isolation technology.In the paper, a new kind of sliding friction isolation device is designed, which usessolid lubrication material MoS2as the paintcoat. The performance of the newdevice,which includes the sliding friction coefficient, is tested under different workingconditions by MTS electro-hydraulic servo test system. After that the mechanicalanalysis and computation model are established. At the base, some construction anddesign advices are put forward.The analytical method for seismic response of frame structure with the new kindbase sliding friction isolation device is simplified the structure to story shear model, andthe equation is solved by midpoint acceleration method. Also, a five storiesferroconcrete test framework model, which with the base friction isolation device and1/5similarity ratio, is designed on the basis of similarity relation. And then, the finiteelement model for the test frame structure is established by ANSYS to analyse thedynamic characteristics. The modes of vibration of the test framework model with baseisolation or not are contrasted. After that, the main laws of seismic responses of the two models, the isolation mechanism of the framework model and the shock isolation effectare analysed one after the other. At last, the method of overturning resistance analysis isresearched.The result proves that the solid lubricant MoS2has not only low friction factor; butalso stable performance of mechanics dynam,and it brings the new sliding frictionisolation device favorable performance and shock isolation effect. The device has itssuperiority that includs simple construction and constitutive model, and also the slidingdisplacement can be controled by setting inhibiting device.Research also indicates that when the frictional factor is0,the natural period ofvibration of test framework model with base sliding friction isolation device iscompletely different of that has no isolation device. The superstructure shifts as a whole.By contrast, the change of frictional factor can hardly influence the natural period ofvibration when it is low enough. The frictional factor has enormous effection on theseismic response of test framework model, so that the parameters and quantity of thesliding friction isolation device should be select reasonably on the basis of structures’condition when they are used in buildings. In addition, the effection of structuredamping ratio on the structural seismic response also can not be ignored.
