Nowadays, mankind is facing increasingly serious energy crisis, and the electricpower industry is one of the most energy consumption industry. In our country, thermalpower plant of the electric power industry has accounted for a very great proportion,how to enhance the efficiency of thermal power plant, reduce the energy consumption isan inevitable problem which accompanied by the development of the economy of ourcountry and the development of the electric power industry. The government attachesgreat importance to energy saving, and launched policy on this item. The main task ofthe combustion system is to supply enough fuel to meet the demand of the load and themain-steam pressure of the boiler, to make sure that the thermal power plant can worksafely, steadily and economically. It will contribute important significance for thethermal power plant to improve efficiency, which can reduce energy consumption andpollution.First, this article analyzed the combustion system of thermal power plant. On thebase of understanding the structure and the operation process of the control system,author point out the shortcomings of the unit load coordinated control system used bythe combustion system. The shortcomings is that the quantity of fuel in response tomain-steam pressure changes has a serious lag, which will effect the quality of control.In this paper, the radiant energy signal was proposed to replace the heat signal byconstructing a new combustion control system. Through CCD camera to obtain imagesof the flame, by using digital image processing technology to reduce the noise of flameimage, then, using colorimetric temperature measurement method to obtain thetemperature field distribution, finally, calculate the radiant energy signal. Collect theradiant energy signal and fuel quantity signal of a period of time, then, using theleast-squares method to identify the transfer function between radiant energy signal andfuel quantity signal. After simulation, the quality of control is improved by using radiantenergy signal.In order to improve the efficiency of combustion of the boiler, the paper alsopropose dynamic optimization when combustion control system reach the steady period.By analyzing the relationship among ratio of air and coal, radiant energy signal and theefficiency of thermal power plant, through searching the optimal ratio of air and coalcan improve the efficiency. Application of optimization theory, build the highest radiant energy signal as objective function of optimization strategy on combustion controlsystem. After optimization, the efficiency of boiler is improved.
