In the aero engine field test, conventional ground test bay is huge, which makes it inconvenient to carry. Besides, fierce engine vibration often causes the halt of equipment on the test bay. In order to reduce the cost of ground testing system and the complexity, US army strives to develop the portable field test technology. On one side, this technology enhances the field test accuracy, greatly reduces the field wrong disassembling and the maintenance cost and reduces the labor intensity of outfield test work as well as the technical requirement to outfield operators. On the other side, it brings obvious economic benefits. But in domestic, the application of portable field test stays at the initial stage. Therefore, it is crucial to carry out the research on portable field test system, which assists infield test and enhances the efficiency of the field test.In this paper, first, considering the major engine technical parameters as well as the design demand of test system, we choose American NI Corporation’s product—CompactRIO embedded platform as the core equipment to construct the engine field test system after system investigation. After selecting the right sensor, data acquisition equipment, power source as well as computer, the hardware platform of test system is built. Then, the software part of the aero engine field test system is developed by LabVIEW, including lower computer program (RT module, FPGA module), host computer program (PC) as well as the communication part between server and client. Finally, in view of the disturbance which exists in the data acquisition process, we eliminate the noise disturbance through LabVIEW & Matlab hybrid programming, which makes most of abundant wavelet and wavelet packet denoising function in Matlab.During the tests in both laboratory and aero engine, the portable field test system in this paper meets the demand of function and technology and achieves satisfactory results.
