With the development of the society, CBTC(Communication Based Train Control), characterized by high speed and high density, has gradually become the first choice for signal system of urban mass transit. However, the CBTC technology has been monopolized by foreign manufacturers like Siemens, Bombardier, Thales etc, and it severely limits the development of urban mass transit in China. Therefore, it is urgent and necessary to research and develop CBTC system in engineering standard with our own full proprietary intellectual property fights. Zone controller is one core subsystem of CBTC system. It is in charge of calculating the movement authorization limit and maintaining safety train separation for all train operating in CBTC territory according to the information received from train location reports and fixed obstacles on line. The CBTC system interfaces to and may modify these conventional interlocking functions based on train position established by the CBTC train location determination function, to enable the enhanced performance capabilities of a CBTC system to be realized. These interfaces are functional interfaces instead of physical interfaces, and linked by Data Communication System.It starts with the establishment of system parameters and communication protocols which can satisfy real-time and safety requirements of CBTC system through the analyze of DCS system characters and CBTC subsystem data transmission characters. Then, it focuses on design of the external interlocking functional interfaces between CBTC system and interlocking system, defines these interfaces and standard function performing process to satisfy all the CBTC requirements. Whereafter,it designs the hardware and program process based on the conclusion of previous chapter.Lastly,it gives the suggested testing procedures for all these functional interfaces on lab testing platform.
