In the process of the projectile penetration, the projectile nose has a severe sliding frictiondue to pushing away target, overcoming the medium resistance. Most of the power made bythe friction is transformed into heat energy, leading to the surface temperature of the projectilenose instantly engendering sudden change. The measurement system of collecting andrecording the transient temperature based on C8051F340 MCU was designed andimplemented, for the study of transient temperature change of the projectile nose surface inthe process of projectile penetrating medium.The dissertation briefly analyzed the process of projectile penetrating medium and thetemperature peak value caused by the penetration friction of minor-caliber projectile wasestimated on the approximate theory. Owing to the specific and complexity characteristics ofmeasurement environment, the whole design scheme of the test system was put forward,according to the system requirements the appropriate temperature sensor was selected toinstall on the projectile surface, focused on the sensor of the dynamic response time. The partof hardware circuit had been designed based on the overall framework, mainly includingpower supply module, the analog to digital converter module, microprocessor control module,the data storage module, and the temperature data acquisition and storage program had beenwrote. The mechanical structure of the simulation test bomb and the install position of themeasurement system were planed by the software Pro/E. On the basis of early work, themodule debugging test, static test and the dynamic penetration sand experiment wascompleted, verified the function of the system collecting transient temperature, and the resultsof the experiments was analyzed. This study will not only help to understand the target’s internal resistance, sliding friction,the actual trajectory law in the penetration process, but also be widely used for dynamic fasttemperature test in the field of thermal equipment, such as power machinery, rocket engines,weapons research and development and etc.
