At present, the concrete block has been developed unprecedented; its main performances are concerned with the type of material, gradation ratio, molding equipment performance, production process, the environment of conservation and so on. The block strength is one of the most important parameters to measure the block quality, and largely depends on the density and uniformity of the block. Therefore, improving the material density and uniformity in the mold is a major improvement for the domestic block forming machines.The density and strength of the blocks formed in one support plate is different produced in our country. The strength is higher near the filling bench and lower away the bench. The main reason causing the problem is the filling structure and mode of the filling system of the block forming machine. The block strength is directly affected by the running accuracy, stability filling system and the structure of harrows. Therefore, the improvement and optimizations for the filling system have a very important significance.The improvement and optimization scheme is put forward for the filling system of block forming machine. It is a moving-and-blanking process for the traditional filling system;the materials closing to the filling box (the back of the mode) fall firstly and followed by the materials far away from the box (the front of the mode). A great deal of materials are accumulated in the back of the mode and distributed far a long time. But the materials in the front of the mode are relatively sparse. So, the materials in the front of the mode is deficiency and uneven. The improved filling system with a movable plate solved the problem on lack of filling at the front of mold box. Because its filling process is from front to back of the mode. So the vibration time of the materials in the front and the back of the mode is also different.but, when the filling box goes back, the materials in the back of the mode can be vibrated for a longer time.So, the whole vibration time of the materials in the front and back of mode is the same. Therefore, the materials in the front and back of the mode can be distributed uniformly.The feasibility of the improved filling system was analyzed by simulation test. And the whole filling process is analyzed by a DEM software PFC3D. The simulation results show that, the problem of filling insufficient and uneven can be solved by the improved filling system. And the materials density is basically the same inside the various parts of the mode. So, the density and uniformity of the block can be improved.
